The Ouzoud Waterfalls hold the title of being the largest, most spectacular, and imposing waterfalls in all of North Africa. With an impressive free fall of about 110 meters in height divided into several tiers, the landscape and the freshness you breathe upon arrival make every minute of the journey worthwhile. As you walk along its trails, you will enter a unique orchard guarded by dense olive groves, where a rich variety of birds and a friendly colony of Barbary macaques coexist in total freedom. A perfect day to stretch your legs, breathe fresh air, and feel the power of nature.
Your excursion begins at 8:00 AM. Our private driver-guide will pick you up directly at the door of your hotel or riad in Marrakech in a modern, comfortable, and fully air-conditioned vehicle. We will set off heading northeast, leaving the city plain behind to advance toward the pre-Atlas landscapes.
During the journey of approximately two and a half hours, we will cross traditional agricultural areas and valleys sculpted by local culture. We will make several strategic stops at scenic viewpoints to contemplate and photograph the small Berber villages made of adobe and stone blended into the hills, enjoying an enjoyable trip full of visual contrasts.
Upon arriving in Ouzoud, you will have free time to explore this natural paradise at your own pace. The landscape will immediately surprise you with its lush vegetation and the thundering sound of water. If you feel like it, we recommend descending along the main trail that winds through centuries-old olive trees (whose name, Ouzoud, means precisely “olive” in the Berber language) until you reach the bottom of the canyon. From down there, you can feel the refreshing mist on your skin and the breathtaking roar caused by the water plunging from its 110-meter height.
During your walk along the viewpoints, you will cross paths with the friendly local monkeys native to the area, who live completely in freedom and usually approach travelers with curiosity. Around noon, you can enjoy lunch at your leisure in the picturesque family restaurants built next to the river, where you can savor a charcoal-cooked tajine while enjoying an unparalleled panoramic view of the waterfalls.
Travel note: To make the most of this excursion, we recommend wearing comfortable clothing and hiking shoes with non-slip soles, as some areas close to the water can become damp or slippery.
At the time and place previously agreed upon with your driver, we will meet again at our private vehicle to begin the route back to Marrakech.
The return journey will be done at a relaxed pace, prioritizing road safety based on traffic conditions. We will arrive at your hotel or riad in the evening, concluding this refreshing nature getaway with a direct drop-off at the door of your accommodation.
