Marrakech – Accommodation Pick-up and Start of the Monumental Journey

We will begin the historical tour by admiring the imposing silhouette of the Koutoubia Mosque, an absolute masterpiece of 12th-century Almohad art that dominates the city’s skyline. Next, we will head into the pedestrian Medina on foot to visit the lavish Bahia Palace (“The Brilliant”), a 19th-century royal residence famous for its detailed carved cedar wood ceilings and marble courtyards. We will continue the route through the picturesque Kasbah market and the Jewish Quarter (El Mellah) until we reach the Saadian Tombs, a spectacular hidden 16th-century mausoleum where the sultans of the dynasty rest among finely geometric mosaics and marble columns.

Living Souks, the Ben Youssef Medersa, and Lunch in the Medina

The guided walk will lead us straight into the labyrinth of the Medina’s souks, a vibrant space where your guide will show you how to distinguish between the different artisan quarters of weavers, dyers, and blacksmiths. Amidst the hustle and bustle, we will step into an authentic oasis of spiritual peace: the Ben Youssef Medersa. This ancient Koranic school stands out for the astonishing harmony of its interior courtyard, its mosaics, and the austere cells where its students used to live.

Around noon, you will have free time to enjoy a pleasant lunch at one of the traditional restaurants in the medina or on its panoramic rooftops.

Urban Oases – The Majorelle Garden, the Menara Gardens, and Jemaa el Fna Square

In the afternoon, we will board our exclusive private transport to leave the walls of the old medina and head towards the modern part of the city. We will visit the fascinating Majorelle Garden, a living work of art created by the painter Jacques Majorelle and acquired in the 1980s by the fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent. You will be captivated by the contrast of its intense blue paint with more than 300 species of exotic plants, water lilies, and bamboos.

From there, the vehicle will transfer us to the Menara Garden, historically known as “the mirror of paradise on earth.” You will stroll along its immense 12th-century artificial pond, fed by meltwater from the Atlas Mountains, and contemplate the famous royal pavilion or minzah surrounded by hectares of centuries-old olive groves.

We will conclude the 8-hour tour by returning to the heart of the country: the legendary Jemaa el Fna Square.
