1-Day Tour to the Ourika Valley from Marrakech

Marrakech – Morning Departure, Local Markets, and Berber Tea

Your excursion begins at 8:00 AM. Our private driver-guide will pick you up directly at the door of your hotel or riad in Marrakech in a modern, comfortable, and fully air-conditioned vehicle. We will set off heading south, leaving the urban bustle behind to advance toward the imposing peaks of the High Atlas.

We will cross the fertile Haouz plain and stop in the center of Tnine Ourika. If your excursion coincides with market days (Mondays, Thursdays, or Fridays), we will make a stop to visit the traditional open-air souk, a vibrant space where mountain village inhabitants gather to trade livestock, fruits, and crafts. Before reaching our final destination, we will make a brief and unforgettable stop at a typical Berber house. There, you will be welcomed by a local family who will invite you to share a traditional cup of mint tea, offering you a unique window into their ancient customs.

Ourika Valley – Exploration, Riverside Lunch, and Setti Fatma Waterfalls

We will continue ascending through the canyon following the course of the Ourika River until we reach the charming village of Setti Fatma, the end of the road. Here, you will have free time to explore the area at your own pace. We recommend taking a pleasant stroll through the valley and enjoying lunch at your leisure in its picturesque family restaurants, whose terraces and colorful tables are set up directly on the stones at the water’s edge, allowing you to savor a traditional tajine with the relaxing murmur of the river in the background.

In the afternoon, you can go on a hike to discover the area’s famous waterfalls. The first waterfall is easily accessible and suitable for everyone via a light trail. If you are looking for a greater challenge and are in good physical shape, you will have the option to venture toward the six upper waterfalls.

Important note about the waterfalls: To access the six upper waterfalls, it is mandatory to hire a local mountain guide in the village (approximate supplement of €20) and wear comfortable shoes with non-slip soles, as the path requires climbing rudimentary wooden ladders and doing some light scrambling among slippery rocks.

Return to Marrakech – End of the Atlas Getaway

At the time and place previously agreed upon with your driver, we will meet again at our exclusive private vehicle to begin the route back.

The return journey will be done at a calm and relaxed pace, prioritizing road safety above all else. We will arrive in Marrakech in the evening, concluding this enriching mountain day with a direct drop-off at the door of your hotel or riad.
